How to make:
  • Setting up your axis. To set the wick in your container, you will want to put a flat piece of metal on the bottom. Then use your chopsticks / skewers to hold the wick, and stick the tip of a chopstick to keep everything in place.
  • Measure the wax flakes. Measuring the number of bits of wax you need for each of your containers. The rule of thumb is twice the number of bits of wax to fill each container.
  • Melting wax. Fill the pot with water up to the halfway mark. Placing your number is measured from the flakes of wax in a glass container. Then place the glass container in a pan. Make sure the water level is low enough, so it will not spark into flakes of wax when it starts to boil. Turn on your stove to medium-high, and use a metal spoon to stir occasionally.
  • Adding color to your candles. This is an optional step. You will come out white candles natural milk, but if you want to add a bit of color, you can use non-toxic crayons or wax blocks of color. I usually use a 1/8 inch of red crayons per 16 fl. ons to get soft pastel colors. Want a brighter color? Use a little more color, just add a little at a time. Such as food coloring, a small amount goes a long way. Enough to melt your color wax flakes along with you. Warning: The color will look much brighter in the mix melted but it will change the color of the milk as it cools.
  • Add fragrance. After all the wax is completely melted, remove the wax mixture from the stove. My rule of thumb is 10 drops of essential oil per 16 fl. ons It makes for quite a scented candle. Use less or more depending on your taste, and feel free to experiment and oil mixture to create your own scent. Add the measured amount of essential oil to give a mixture of wax and stir well to make sure it is well mixed.
  • Pouring wax. Make sure your container in a good location where they will not need to be moved for several hours. Then slowly pour the melted wax mixture into the container.
  • Set your candles. Allow 3-4 hours for your wax to cool and solidify. It's best to let them strengthen at room temperature so that a gradual cooling process. This is to prevent cracks in the wax.
