- Layer half of vanilla wafers in 8-inch square pan. Top with half of the sliced banana and half of the pudding. Repeat procedure with remaining wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding.
- Beat the egg whites at high speed with an electric mixer until foamy. Gradually add 3 tablespoons. sugar, beating until sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks form. Spread the meringue over the pudding, sealing to edge of dish.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden. Let cool 30 minutes and serve warm; or relax an extra hour, and serve cold.
